A Meat-Lover's Paradise: 5 Selected Yakiniku Restaurants Near The Shimbashi Station!

Shimbashi, a major station on the Yamanote Line, is a popular place for yakiniku. It has a high concentration of well-rated restaurants of the genre, especially in the area to the west of the station, near Sakurada Park, so if you want to eat delicious grilled meat, Shimbashi is the place for you to go! Here are 5 selected restaurants in that area.

Shotaien

Shotaien is located a 3-minute walk from the Shimbashi Station or a 1-minute walk of the Uchiwaicho Station. The prevailing view is that this place is simply awesome. It's so popular that it might be a good idea to make a reservation before going. Meat servings a bit on the expensive side (about 1,300 to 1,500 yen a plate) but you get great quality of tender meat! Aside from the yakiniku, there is a menu item of rare beef meat and raw egg yolk that people rave about.

Karubiano

Karubiano is located a to the east of the Sakurada Park, a 3-minute walk from the station. For a copious evening meal, a good choice here is to take the o-makase (recommended assortment) course for 5,500 yen. You'll get to try many kinds of popular Japanese meat such as wagyu (Japanese meat of top-notch quality), sausages, tripes, etc. You also get dishes of kimchi and salads which go really well with yakiniku. The tare dipping sauce here is served with a raw egg yolk. The mix is really delicious! The restaurant closes at 3 AM so you can really take your time and enjoy the feast.

Kin No Hitsuji

Kin No Hitsuji is located just to the south of the Sakurada Park, a 3 or 4-minute walk from the station. The place is really nice if you want something a little different. It specializes in the Genghis Khan, a kind of lamb yakiniku originating from Hokkaido. Notice that the roaster is different too. It has a convex middle part. The meat is grilled in the center, and the vegetables are placed around. As for vegetables, you can get corn and goya (bitter melon) here! A typical meal costs between 3,000 to 4,000 yen.

Tokuju

Tokuju is a well-established restaurant located a 3-minute walk from the Shimbashi Station. It has been around since 1957. You can eat wagyu and tripes here. The quality is overall great and the prices are reasonable but if you want something really special, you can even order plates of specially selected wagyu at 5,500 yen. There are some really nice lunch dishes and sets too. For 2,600 yen, you get a salad, kimchi, ice cream, and coffee.

Ore No Yakiniku

Unlike most of the yakiniku restaurants, Ore No Yakiniku is located to the north of the Shimbashi Station. You might want to try for lunch here the 5 assortment premium wagyu set at about 3,000 yen. A very popular option is the gyutan (beef tongue) set for 999 yen. The tongues are said to be tender and you get quite a large quantity for the price. The popular restaurant has so many kinds meat and cuts. There are some very affordable options and some extremely expensive one. Everyone can find what they are looking for.
