The Top 5 Restos you Should Try While You're In Asagaya!

Asagaya is one stop away from hip Koenji on the Chuo line, and a few stops before Kichijoji on the same line. It is surrounded by cool neighborhoods, but is still an understated fun place to visit. It's developping quickly and has a lot of nice fun and small bars and restos. You need to stop by if you love international cuisine in an unpretentious setting.

Feel free to follow favy!

La Maison Courtine

The chef at this resto was trained by la Maison Courtine in Paris, a one-star Michelin restaurant. This restaurant serves delicious French cuisine.
Dinner courses start 1t 5,700 yen.
Lunch courses are between 2,600-8,900 yen.

Pikiinu is 4 minutes away from Asagaya station. Dishes are between 600-1,200 yen (and over 2,000 if you ask for a large portion). This restaurant is small, but it is very well appreciated in the neighborhood. Definitely, a must-try if you like Thai cuisine.

Izmir is on the second floor of a building, right across from Asagaya station. This restaurant is tiny, but it's always full because the food is really great and the staff is very welcoming! You should try the mezze plate with the delicious bread as starters, and of course the kebab!

Asagaya Birdland

Birdland is located about 2-minutes away from Asagaya station and it has a branch in Ginza and in Marunouchi and it is a Michelin-starred restaurant!! They use Ibaraki's famous chicken which is famous for its low fat content. Have you ever tried yakitori paired with wine? It's a change of pace and is quite awesome!
This restaurant is highly popular, so we recommend making a reservation before-hand.
They have 3 different courses to choose from: a ¥3,700, a ¥5,000 and a ¥6,500 course; it includes 3-4 appetizers, different brochettes, etc.

Ramen Cique

Ramen Cique is half-way between Ogikubo and Asagaya station. It's a must-try for ramen lovers, as their dishes are really awesome! If you have the shio (salt) ramen, you should try it with tomatoes as a topping. They have strange opening hours, so you should check before heading there.

If you enjoyed your dining experience at these restos, and are looking for a nice place to have a drink afterwards, please check out the link below.
Asagaya is around a 10-minute walk from Koenji, so you can check it out after these restos.
