A French-inspired cafe called Bonnel opened its first branch at near Inadazutsumi Station, then moved near the Jujo Station. It is located in the Jujo Ginza shopping arcade. A popular cafe that serves chocolate hot sticks as well as coffees and other drinks. They have lunch menu from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Bonnel Cafe is perfect for groups, families with kids, and parties.
The unique chocolate hot sticks with many flavors are sweet, herbal or bitter. It costs 650-750 yen for the small size one and 750-900 yen for a regular size one. Recommended flavors are black tea from the sweet series and bitter chocolate. It is served with warm milk. You will then dip the hot stick into warm milk. The way you eat it is really a fun experience in itself!
Other than cakes, the cafe is famous for its shaved ice. It is different from the ordinary shaved ice found in the city. The high-quality ingredients with rich flavors are really outstanding and attract crowds of people. The recommend flavor is the chocolate flavored shaved ice.
As for the drinks, rich flavored hand-drip coffee is served with different brew based on your taste. Juices and teas are available too!
House special omurice with kinoko mushroom sauce costs 980 yen each and comes with a complimentary drink. Bonnel Cafe serves white stew rice but only makes 5 servings daily. It is very rare but worth the try!
Bonnel Cafe's chocolate hot stick has been featured in Hirunandesu!, a popular Japanese tv program and Hanako, a Japanese food magazine. Also, it has gone viral among high school students, college students, and social media such as Twitter and Instagram.
