Top Udon Restaurant, Sato Yosuke - Try The Traditional Inaniwa Udon Noodles

Sato Yosuke is a udon restaurant that originated in Akita Prefecture. They are well known for their delicious handmade "Inaniwa udon", a type of udon noodle from Akita. Today, there have 4 branches in Tokyo so you don't need to travel to the north of Japan to try one of the top udon restaurants!

Sato Yosuke is one of the most famous udon restaurants in Japan. They have a long history of making the "inaniwa udon", which is a type of udon noodles which originated in Akita Prefecture located in the northern part of Japan.

A man called Sato Yosuke learned to make inaniwa udon from his father and opened a restaurant in 1860 in Akita, and the restaurant and recipe have been passed down from father to sone, son to grandson, for over 150 years.

There are 8 locations in Akita and 4 locations in Tokyo, including Ginza and Akasaka, and 1 in Fukuoka Prefecture.

Ginza Sato Yosuke is very easy to access if you stay in Tokyo. It is just 3 minutes walk away from Ginza station. They have nice atmosphere too.

Inaniwa udon is flatter and smoother than the normal udon noodles. Their udon noodles are 100% handmade and only some people know how to make it. They offer a variety of menu to enjoy the delicious udon. This article introduces menus of Ginza shop.

Cold udon with two dipping sauces (1300 yen)

It is the most popular menu. It comes with two dipping sauce, one is soy sauce based and the other is sesame and miso flavored. The noodles are very smooth and chewy.

Thai curry udon (1400 yen)

The handmade udon also go well with the spicy Thai curry sauce!

Hot udon with freshly fried tempura. The hot soup is light yet rich in flavors.
