Takaishi is a small shop selling bags and purses in the Nakamise Shopping Street. It has over 100 years of history.

They have a variety of cute and unique bags and purses. You can find from cartoon characters to traditional design. Out of all, these kinds of bags with the cute animals pictures are especially popular with foreigners.

2. Ufufu (う布ふ)

Ufufu specializes in the traditional Edo (old Tokyo) style designs. You will be impressed by the beautiful, intricate patterns.

They have a wide selection of goods like clothes, purses, plates, and more, so you can admire the beautiful Japanese designs in your everyday life. They also have a cafe inside the shop where you can take a rest and enjoy Japanese teas.

3. Minatoya (港屋)

Minatoya is the best place to buy sake (Japanese wine) in Asakusa in terms of the selections! You will have a difficulty in deciding which sake to get.

One great thing about this shop, besides the selections, is the sake bottles. They are very cute and great for souvenirs. You can also try their sake so you can find your favorite one.

4. Wakeari Honpo (わけあり本舗)

If you are looking for cheap souvenirs, this shop is the place to go. "Wakeari" literally translated "to have some reasons", which means their products have special reasons to be sold at low prices, like out-of-print products.

You can get nice, cute clothes and other fashion items which are way cheaper than other shops.

5. Lion Rags (ライオンラグス)

If you have an interest in the traditional crafts of the world, this shop is worth visiting. They are specialized in Persian carpets.

All of their carpets are locally purchased by the staff such as in Turkey and Afganistan. It would be exciting to just take a close look at these beautiful patterns and feel the traditions of the Middle East.
