There is a time limitation when you pick strawberries, you can have as much as you like, but do not take more than you can eat. There are some places where you can bring back the strawberries you picked.
Variety of strawberry in Japan
Amao is one of the most popular kinds of strawberry. Its name comes from "akai"(red),"marui"(round), "okii"(big), and "umai"(delicious). They have a strong smell and a very sweet taste. The season is from November to May.
Tochiotome is the most popular and common strawberry in Japan. They last long, and the sweetness is strong compared to the sourness. The season is from November to early May.
Benihoppe has many big fans. They have a vivid red color and the taste is balanced. The season is from December to early May.
Kawatsuraichigoen is located in Chiba prefecture, about an hour ride of a train from Tokyo Station. Kawatsuraichigoen has strawberries of Chiba brand, such as Fusanoka, a very sweet strawberry with a peachlike smell.
Open hours: From December to early May, 10:00-14:30 on weekdays, 9:30-14:30 on weekends.
Price: Adult 1,100yen-2,000yen(differs by the season), Kids 700yen-1,500yen(differs by the season).
