Healthy and Simple Japanese Recipe: Miso Salmon!

Miso salmon is a staple of Japanese cuisine, yet it is deceptively simple. This recipe has the perfect Japanese umami and is addictively delicious! It is also my personal favorite!

Miso Salmon Recipe! 味噌鮭

-500g of salmon with the skin still on.
-2 tablespoons of white miso
-1 tablespoon of mirin
-1 tablespoon of soy sauce
-1 tablespoon of sake
-1/4 teaspoon of sesame oil
-1 tablespoon of fresh salmon roe (if available)

1. Mix together all the ingredients to make the marinade. Mix with a small whisk.
2. Place the salmon in the bowl with the skin side up. Scoop the marinade over the salmon to make sure it gets everywhere. Place it in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the saltiness level you like.
3.Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove some of the marinade because miso burns easily. Broil for about 10 minutes on the medium rack until the salmon has a nice brown color and a slightly crispy outer layer.
4. Top with a salmon roe for an extra fancy and beautiful dish!
