Before getting started...

If you are wondering if there's any differences between Osaka and Hiroshima style okonomiyaki, you should check the link below! It has detailed explanations of the differences.

Buchiumaya (ぶち旨屋)

Located around a 8 minute walk from Shinjuku station, you will find a very popular Okonomiyaki restaurant that has been featured several times on TV shows. They are specialized in serving Hiroshima style okonomiyaki, and this is probably one of the most famous okonomiyaki restaurants in Tokyo! You can experience exquisite okonomiyaki with a local atmosphere! Making a reservation is highly recommended.

Honjin (本陣)

This place offers all-you-can-eat Okonomiyaki! Just a few minute walk from Shinjuku station, this is an okonomiyaki and monja restaurant. You can choose 7 different kinds of okonomiyaki, monja, and 3 different kinds of yakisoba. They also have takoyaki that you can make on your own! If you are looking for a satisfying experience at a reasonable price, this is where you should go!

Tsuchiya (つちや)

Just around a 3 minute walk from Nishi Shinjuku 5 chome station, this place offers okonomiyaki and monja. Located from little far from center of Shinjuku, you can have a comforting okonomiyaki experience. Their "anko (red bean) roll" is a must-try dessert here! They also have teppanyaki menu too, so make sure to check that out too.

Botejyu (ぼてぢゅう)

Connected directly to Seibu and JR Shinjuku station, around a 5 minute walk, this place is a famous yet casual okonomiyaki chain! This chain is from Osaka, so they offer Osaka style okonomiyaki! They also have stores in Southeast Asia too, which tells us how their okonomiyaki is popular among people from different countries. It is such a perfect place to go for a casual lunch and dinner. Their modern-yaki (similar to Hiroshima style okonomiyaki) is a must-try!

Kyochabana (京ちゃばな)

Kyochabana is famous for its very unique menus - their standard menu is pork okonomiyaki, but their stores that offer new okonomiyaki has "tomato okonomiyaki"! It is one of their signature menu, and it's a must-try. They also have avocado-black yakisoba which is very popular among customers. Other than that, they offer several delicious side dishes too. If you are going there for someone's birthday, you can ask the staff for special okonomiyaki (call them beforehand to confirm!). Enjoy your unique okonomiyaki experience at Kyochabana in Shinjuku! Just a 3 minute walk from Shinjuku station.

Lastly...

Shinjuku has both Osaka and Hiroshima style okonomiyaki restaurants, and they even have lots of okonomiyaki chains! Depending on the occasion, there are always lots of options you can choose from. We hope you found your favorite okonomiyaki restaurants from the places listed above!
