Here's a good restaurant that has a sushi train! Magurobito (which means "tuna person") is located just a few minutes away from Kichijoji Station's North Exit. As is the case for conveyor belt sushi restaurants, the place is quite cheap! You can get a satisfying meal for less than 2,000 yen. Magurobito is very particular about their tuna (it's in their name after all). The tuna assortment dish is their most popular item. The restaurant also recommends the lesser-known nodoguro (seapearch) for something different. You'll get surprising quality for the price! This is one of the most popular sushi places in Kichijoji for sushi.

Fujimoto sushi is located along the Inogashira Street to the east of the Station (Park Exit). This is a great place known primarily by the locals. The sushi master has amazing skills. You'll get served perfectly sliced fresh sashimi and sushi placed in a sophisticated way on colorful plates with traditional designs. For dinner, the price for a meal can be up to 8,000 yen but for lunch, you won't have to pay more than 3,000 yen. You can order good Japanese alcohol here and other seafood dishes. Because of the comfortable space, some people say it feels more like a seafood izakaya than a sushi bar.

Sushi No Midori

Sushi No Midori is located on the basement floor of the Atre, a department store connected to the Kichijoji Station. The place is small but the sushi is really nice for the cheap price it is sold. This place is super popular! Sometimes you might have to wait up to one hour to be seated. You can have exquisite assortments of sushi for just about 2,000 to 2,800 yen. There is a lot of variety, the flavours are well-balanced and the fish is fresh. If you don't mind waiting in line, this might very well be your best option in Kichijoji among the cheap sushi bars!

Uogin is located just a 3-minute walk from the Park Exit of the station. The place has a cozy atmosphere. The sashimi is fresh and the menu is adjusted seasonally. Ask for the chefs' recommendations to get the best catch of the season. Prices here are reasonable. You can expect to pay 2,500 yen for lunch and about double that for dinner. The place also has a nice selection of Japanese sake and shochu (Japanese spirits). This is a good, well-rounded sushi bar. You'll get delicious items for an affordable price.

Mimasuya is located about a 3-minute walk from Kichijoji's Station's Park Exit. This place is a high-end sushi bar open only during dinner hours. Expect to pay over 10,000 yen.
