A Useful Guide Of Tonkatsu Maisen Branch Stores In Tokyo

Maisen is one of the most well known Tonkatsu restaurants in Japan, and has many branch stores within Japan. This article will provide you a guide to the main Maisen branch stores in Tokyo!

Tonkatsu Maisen

Tonkatsu Maisen was established in 1965, serving affordable and high quality tonkatsu to their customers. Now, there are 11 Maisen restaurants located within Japan, as well as 62 stands located inside department stores selling tonkatsu, tonkatsu sandwiches and tonkatsu bento boxes.

Aoyama Main Store

After a 3 minute walk from Omotesando station, you will find the Tonkatsu Maisen Aoyama Main Store. This is the first Tonkatsu Maisen store, and therefore you can enjoy your Tonkatsu in a nice retro atmosphere.
They have their traditional menu of Tonkatsu, which is a dish that uses quality pork transported from all over Japan, and the pork cutlet is deep fried. You can enjoy the same dish in other Maisen stores as well.
However, the special seasonal courses are only in the menu at the Aoyama Main Store. There are several courses that you can enjoy tonkatsu, but also sushi, soba noodles, shabu-shabu and other Japanese cuisines.

Shibuya Hikarie Store

This store is directly connected to Shibuya station, as it is located on the 6F of Hikarie. It is located at a very convenient place!
You can enjoy Tonkatsu made from the Tokyo brand pork called Tokyo x here. They also have other Japanese pork Tonkatsu and other a la carte dishes!

Daimaru Tokyo Store

This store is located on the 12th floor of Daimaru department store. Daimaru is a department store directly connected to Tokyo station. Although Tokyo station is a very complicated station and it is difficult to find your way to restaurants outside of the station, Daimaru department store is right in front of the Yaesu North exit.
Likewise to the other stores, you can enjoy good Japanese pork Tonkatsu. But, they have Tonkatsu made from the brand pork called "Amai Giwaku (sweet temptation)” and because it is a rare pork meat, they only have 5 servings a day!

Shibuya Toyoko Store

There is another Tonkatsu Maisen branch store located in Shibuya, and this one is located on the 9th floor of the west building Shibuya Tokyu Department Store. While restaurants in department stores are quite pricey, you can have a reasonably priced meal here!
You can enjoy top quality Tonkatsu using pork from Kagoshima prefecture, and many other special pork brands in Japan. In the menu, there have Tonkatsu sets, as well as other deep-fried dishes.
