Katsukura, An Awesome Tonkatsu Restaurant in Tokyo

Katsukura is a "tonkatsu" (fried pork cutlet) restaurant originally from Kyoto. If you're looking for a nice family-friendly restaurant for great food, you should stop by.

Katsukura is a Tonkatsu restaurant originally from Kyoto. The cuisine and some of the ingredients used are reminiscent of a taste of Kyoto-style Japanese cuisine.
They now have branches all over Tokyo, also in Osaka, Kanagawa (etc.), and even Shanghai!
The Shinjuku Takashimaya branch is located on the 14th floor of the Takashimaya Shinjuku department Store.


Premium Pork” Kinkabuta” is deep-fried to make the Tonkatsu.
They say that the pork loin is very tender and even the fatty part has also an elegant sweetness and umami (savory taste).
They uses high quality pork, as well as healthy plant oil to fry the pork in order to create a juicy but light taste to the Tonkatsu. They mainly serve Tonkatsu in a set, so you can enjoy your Tonkatsu with some other small dishes.
The set comes with sesame seeds that you can grind yourself and so the fresh taste of the sesame really stands out.
How about a soft and tender "tonkatsu" sandwich, also called "katsu sando".

Drink Menu

The classic accompaniment for tonkatsu is a nice cold beer. You can also have sparkling wine if you're feeling a little fancier.


There are also some really nice Japanese desserts if you've saved room for dessert. Such as green tea ice cream, green tea cake or mochi with black syrup.
