All Aboard! Railroad Bar "Testudo Izakaya Little TGV" Combines Maids & Trains | Tokyo

Toot! Toot! Japan isn't short of interestingly-themed restaurants! Just a little wander around the backstreets of popular tourist spots you'll find some pretty eye-opening restaurant signs. Testudo Izakaya (Railroad bar) Little TGV combines a maid cafe with a railway theme. All aboard!

Feel free to follow favy!

Trains, Maids & Food

Toot! Toot! "All Aboard" is what I hear when I see photos of this place. For people in Japan, it's just another maid cafe but combined with a railroad theme. For outsiders, it's certainly an interesting part of Japanese culture and quite possibly a place that people would want to visit!

Here's you'll find energetic ladies in railroad cosplay spreading their cheer through the restaurant. Everything from the interior, menu, and the food is train or railway inspired. There's model railway and train videos running in the background. If you're a railroad or train fan this is probably a fun adventure!
You can also choose to wear a conductor's hat and take a couple of snaps (of course doing a cute pose).
The food comes in an array of train-shaped designs and plated in train-themed plates.

One funky thing they do here (similar to other maid cafes) is where a staff member will write any station name you desire on-top of your omu-rice (omelette rice) dish.
Even the drinks at Little TGV have railway-related names, such as Ginza Line and Hanzomon Line, which are given due to the colours of the line and drink.

Getting there

Testudo Izakaya Little TGV is located in the western area of Akibahara and a 7-minute walk from Akihabara station.
I've been traveling and eating my way around the world! Now I'm in Tokyo to share all my favourite spots! I spend my time traveling, surfing, hiking, camping and eating amazing food! My favourite Japanese food...Agedashi Tofu!
