Quite possibly the best illuminations in Tokyo during the winter time, Caretta Shiodome really has been going all out in creating a dazzling entrance to its shopping complex for over 10 years now. Many people go there just to see the lights.

Every year, the light show changes but a constant characteristic is the use of primarily blue lights. 250,000 energy-efficient, eco-friendly LED lights are used for the display. The illuminations are not a static display. Every 20 minutes from 5 PM, a true light show can be seen with the illuminations changing in intensity along with the musical track that is played.

Walk through the brightly lit path to get to the shopping mall's entrance. Caretta Shiodome is an outstanding shopping and dining complex located near the Shimbashi Station in Minato-ku. Many of its restaurants have amazing night views. Seeing the illuminations and then dining there is a great idea for a romantic date!
