SALSITA

SALSITA is a Mexican restaurant located just about a minute walk away from Hiroo station, Tokyo. It is kind of a hidden spot in the basement of a building but it is popular with both locals and foreigners.

The owner went to Mexico to learn how to make Mexican food, then opened the restaurant to serve authentic Mexican dishes in Tokyo. The interior decoration is cute and there are both counter and table seats.

Recommended Menu Items

If you go for lunch, you can get a reasonably priced lunch plate. The most popular plate menu is the "Enchilada and Taco" (1000 yen).

The enchilada is made of cheese wrapped in a tortilla. The tomato and chili sauce goes well with it.

The ingredients for the taco varies by the day. You may find pork, chicken, or beef in your order. Take a big bite, and you can enjoy the authentic flavors of Mexico.

This is "Frijoles Refritos" or the so-called bean dip in English which is made from black beans. You can taste the natural sweetness of the beans.

The rice is cooked with tomatoes, onions, and garlic. It goes well with the other items on the plate.

They have some kinds of habanero sauces which have different flavors and levels of spiciness. You can add more kick to your plate meal if you want!

Lastly...

There are not many Mexican restaurants in Tokyo. If you crave for the authentic flavors of Mexico, you should go to SALSITA!

I love traveling and eating. My favorites are everything matcha and cheesecakes.
