Torisoba Kotobuki

Torisoba Kotobuku is a ramen shop located just 1-2 minute walk from the west exit of Ikebukuro station. The shop's beautiful outer appearance is of traditional Japanese style.
Popular Menu Item

The must-try menu item is this "Lemon Soba". The ramen soup and noodles are completely covered with slices of lemon.

The soup is "Tori Paitan" which is made from a chicken broth. It is a bit thick and tastes rich and creamy.

The noodles are thin and chewy. You can choose the firmness of your noodles too.

The ramen also has a slice of chicken which is simmered in "shiokoji" (a Japanese traditional condiment made from salt and rice malt), kikurage (a kind of mushroom), and chopped green onions as well as the lemon.

So how does lemon work in a ramen bowl? It actually adds some good sourness and a fruity flavor to the rich soup, which creates an amazing combination. The more you squeeze the lemon, the more refreshing the ramen becomes.

It is also recommended to add a soft-boiled egg as a topping.
Lastly...
Are you interested in the lemon ramen? It tastes unique and great! If you have a chance to come to Tokyo, you need to give it a try at Torisoba Kotobuki, which you can easily access from Ikebukuro station!
