Two Adorable Moomins Cafes In Tokyo!


How can this idea not sound appealing to anyone who was brought up watching the endearing Moomin characters? You can find all of them, the family, Snuffkin, and Little My hanging out in these two Moomin-themed cafes in Tokyo.

Moomin Cafes In Tokyo!

The Moomins television series was a massive hit in Japan, and people of all generations still go crazy for these cute Scandinavian characters. If you want to have a fun Moomin experience in Tokyo, why not visit one of these two themed cafes?

One of them is the Moomin House Cafe located near The Skytree Tower.

Just a minute walk from Tokyo Skytree station, you can find this cute cafe. There is also a shop inside that sells Moomin-themed products.

It is a very popular cafe so you may have to wait in line for a little, but if you are a Moomin lover, it will definitely be worth the wait.
There is another location called the Moomin Bakery & Cafe near Tokyo Dome.

This one is located on the north side of the Dome and only a few minutes walk from Korakuen station.

What to expect

Inside, there are some life-size Moomin dolls and you can simply enjoy the atmosphere inspired by the world of Moomins! Every food item has some kind of reference to the series.
Each location has a slightly different menu but you'll find a variety of Scandinavian dishes such as these meatballs with a berry sauce.
A tower of Moomin pancakes! They come with figurines that you can keep as a souvenir. If you have a sweet tooth, you might want to try the cinnamon buns, another signature dessert of the cafe.
The assorted plates are a popular lunch option, and they're around ¥1,300 to ¥1,800. They come with soup and lots of fresh seasonal vegetables.
A cup of tea can never be this cute! The Moomin in the cup is actually a melting marshmallow. This is a must-try.


The cafes are open from morning to around 10 PM, so drop by for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a coffee break. Enjoy your Moomin experience!
