When you got pizza on your mind.. There's no denying that Japanese cuisine is scrumptious. But what do you do when your stomach keeps nagging you to go for pizza? Well, you listen because Italian cuisine in Japan is on-point! Here are the top 5 must-try pizza restaurants in Tokyo.

Feel free to follow favy!

La Piccola Tavola

This is quite possibly the best pizza in Tokyo. It is made strictly according to the Naples school of pizza-making of Italy. The crust is unbelievably delicious, with just the right amount of chewiness to it. The toppings are absolutely spot on too. They have about an equal amount of tomato sauce-based pizzas and pizza blanche (with no tomato sauce). The prices vary from ¥1,580 for the simple Margherita and a little less than ¥3,000.

The pizzeria is located near Eifukucho Station in Setagaya Ward.

Seirinkan

A short walk from Naka-Meguro station, this pizzeria offers delicious woodfired pizza. It is located in a nice Tokyo neighbordhood, so it is great for taking a stroll afterwards. This place is highly popular, so be prepared to wait a little before being seated. The Margherita pizza is a must-try! The interior is also interesting with an imposing staircase inside the restaurant.

FREY's Famous Pizzeria

This small pizzeria right off Tokyo Midtown only offers 3 types of pizza, but they're really delicious! The pricing (especially for lunch) is reasonable which makes it a very popular spot. The pizza is made in an brick oven with fresh ingredients; simple scrumptiousness. Also, the staff is very friendly and attentive. A must try!

Pizzeria la Rossa

This is pizza at its best. The Naples style pizza here is cooked in a wood stove. The interior of the restaurant is very warm and welcoming so it would be the ideal place to spend an evening with some friends. If you go for dinner, the pizzas range in price from about ¥1,000 to ¥2,000. Not a bad deal at all for pizzas of this quality! They even have lunchtime specials that include a minestrone soup, pizza or pasta, and access to the drink bar for just ¥1,080.

Pizzeria e Trattoria da ISA

This place gets crowded quickly, so expect to wait a little before getting in. The atmosphere isn't the kind of place to bring a date, but the pizza is simply delicious! You can go for lunch and it's a little cheaper. The chef, Hisanori Yamamoto, was awarded a few trophies in Naples for his pizzas, so think authenticity, but with the chef's original twist. Pure perfection!

Rocco’s New York Pizza

If Italian pizza isn't exactly what you're craving for, and you want a good old slice of New York style pizza, you need to head over to Oji station to fulfill your pizza craving. Generally portions in Japan tend to be quite small, but Rocco's pizzas are hearty, delicious goodness. The pizzas are sold by the slice, or 14" and 18". The pepperoni pizza is definitely worth trying!

Massimottavio

Close to the Eifukucho station, this restaurant is owned by Massimo Minnacucci, former chef at a nearby restaurant.
The pizza is made in a brick oven (built by the owner) which gives it the authentic Naples taste. The Margherita pizza with prosciutto is absolutely amazing!
