Menya Musashi

Menya Musashi is a ramen restaurant that originally opened its first joint in 1998 in Shinjuku, Near the Seibu Shinjuku Station. Due to its popularity, it quickly expanded as a franchise, opening stores mostly near the stations of the JR Yamanote Line.
You order from a ticket machine near the entrance. There is an English option (also many other languages are available) so ordering shouldn't be a problem.

Ramen With THICK Pork Chunks!

Menya Musashi ramen looks and tastes so amazing in large part because of the huge pieces of chashu pork that you get as a topping. These really put to shame the flimsy slices of chashu you get in a standard ramen bowl.

Addictive Broth

The other reason why Menya Musashi's ramen is so good is that the broth is made from an awesome and rare combination of chicken, pork and bonito. The result is a deeply savoury rich broth that is quite addictive.

The most popular item is the Musashi Ramen at ¥1,150. Aside from the meat, it has the standard pieces of bamboo shoots, green onions, and a whole half-boiled egg. For ¥1,450 you can have the same dish but with an extra two pieces of pork. For ¥900 you can have one with just one piece (which is still pretty filling) and without the egg. You can buy more toppings at a little extra cost. Beer is also available.

Tsukemen

Aside from the ramen bowl with soup, you can have your dish with tsukemen (dipping noodles) which comes with an even richer and tastier dipping sauce made from the same broth but with a slightly sweeter taste. This is also a very popular option.

Menya Musashi Ramen Shinjuku: Try It Out!

Musashi Ramen has its flagship restaurant in Shinjuku, which is still the most popular. It is at a 10-minute walk from the JR Shinjuku Station's East Exit, or very near the Seibu Shinjuku Station (near Kabukicho). Go there for the original!

Every Menya Musashi Has Some Special Items!!!

It's also interesting to visit the other locations across Tokyo as each restaurant has its own unique special menu item on the of the standard menu! Here are some examples of what you can order if you explore different restaurants.

・Chiyoda Location: kebab-cheese-tsukemen combo (pictured above)
・Ikebukuro Location: ramen with deep-fried pork or chicken as a topping
・Kichijoji Location: ramen with pork sausage as a topping
・Akihabara Location: ramen with a chunk of over 100g of pork meat topping

Lastly...

Menya Musashi is one of the great ramen restaurants in Tokyo. It's one you should definitely try out if you're looking for an intensely rich and savory ramen.
