What is Nabeyaki udon(鍋焼きうどん)...?

Nabeyaki udon is a kind of combination of nabe, a hot pot dish, and udon, a Japanese noodle dish. Nabeyaki udon is always one of Japanese's favorite dishes in winter. Since it's directly heated, you can enjoy it really hot until the moment you finish eating.

Normally they are soy sauce or dashi based, but misonikomi udon, a regional nabeyaki udon of Nagoya has a miso-based flavor.

Riseian Jigoro: 利静庵 甚五郎

Located in Tachikawa, a 10-minute walk from Sunakawananaban station, Riseian Jingoro offers a nabeyaki udon which is surely worth a visit. The broth is from the Kansai region, west side of Japan, and the taste is light.

Teuchiudon Heisaku: 手打ちうどん 平作

A 15-minute walk from Hanakoganei station, Teuciudon Heisaku offers some gentle and soft tasting nabeyaki udon. And their udon has many local fans.

Yabukyu: やぶ久

Yabukyu is located a minute walk from Rokugoudote station. They offer nabeyaki udon in the most traditional ways, iron hot pots with wood lids. The huge ebiten, shrimp tempura is a thing you must try.

Sangokuichi: 三国一

Sangokiuichi is one of the most famous nabeyaki udon restaurants in Tokyo. They have 3restaurants in Shinjuku, both west and east side. Their nabeyaki udon is very simple, but as you might already know, simple is always the best.

Yamamotoya Sohonke: 山本屋 総本家

Yamamotoya Sohonke is probably the most famous misonikomi udon restaurants. The original restaurant is located in Nagoya, but you can enjoy the same taste in Akihabara too. The thick taste of miso broth is very addicting.
