5 Awesome Harajuku Bars You Need To Know About!

Looking to enjoy the nightlife in Harajuku? These are some cool bars you might want to consider! These 5 selected bars have a little bit of everything for everyone.

Feel free to follow favy!

Harajuku Taproom

Harajuku Taproom is a place that is as much famous for its craft beers than it is for its yakitori (grilled chicken on skewers), and the two make the perfect combination. So this should definitely be one of your top choices if you want a cool bar atmosphere and you've worked up an appetite. They have 12 choices of craft beers plus some seasonal ones.

Donna Selvatica

Donna Selvatica is a bar for chocolate lovers. It specializes in providing excellent combinations of alcohols with the house's selection of some 40 kinds of fine chocolates. The place has 6 counter seats and 6 table seats, and the lighting is dim which makes it very relaxing. The bar master will recommend chocolate pairings with cognacs, whiskeys, and many other liqueurs. During the summer, you can even have a chocolate kakigori (shaved ice) paired with your drink. This is a very interesting and highly-praised bar in Harajuku.

Omohara Beer Forest

Omohara Beer Forest is on the 6th floor of the Tokyu Plaza building. There's nothing outstanding about the drinks, although they do have some good Yona craft beer. The location though is superb. It's on a rooftop terrace that feels like a park. People sit on the ground and chat with friends while drinking and eating. You can buy some foods too at the restaurant. They have sausages, nachos, and the likes. You also have a nice night view of the city if you walk towards the edge of the park area. This might be the best place to enjoy a warm summer night in Harajuku.

This one is closer to the Omotesando Station. From Harajuku Station, it should take you about a 10-minute walk. Bar Radio has excellent cocktails that are a bit pricey (about ¥1,500) but totally worth the price because they are made from top-notch ingredients (seasonal fruits, high-grade liqueurs, etc.). They are served in beautiful glasses too. The place is completely non-smoking, which is a rarity in Tokyo.

UA BAR has something for everyone. It's a bar and a cafe at the same time. So if you feel like a good cup of coffee and some jasmine tea creme brulee, they've got you covered. If you want some good wine and craft beer, it's also a good place to visit. They serve pretty hearty meals as well for the lunch hours (11:00 - 17:00): curry plates, sandwich plates and more for about ¥1,000.
