Delish Japanese Lotus Root & Beef Recipe!

For a typical and delicious Japanese dinner, try this Japanese lotus root recipe! It'll be ready in a flash and your friends will be impressed by this super tasty dish!

The root grows underwater and can be eaten in a variety of ways.

Japanese Lotus Root Recipe

<Ingredients>
-200g of lotus root
-200g of minced beef
-1 tbsp of panko
-1 tbsp of sake
-1 tbsp of soy sauce
-1 tbsp of grated ginger
-Cornstarch (enough to cover the lotus root)

SAUCE:
-3 tbsp of sake
-2 tbsp of soy sauce
-1 tbsp of sugar

<Directions>
1. Cut the lotus root into 5mm slices
2. Mix the minced beef with the sake, soy sauce, and grated ginger
3. Place the meat between two lotus root slices as though to make a sandwich. Press the two pieces together and get rid of the excess meat from the sides
4. Cover the top of the lotus root "sandwich" with cornstarch
5. Fry it in a frying pan, add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan
6. Once the lotus root is well-cooked (golden), add the ingredients to make the sauce (sake, soy sauce & sugar)
7. Once the sauce has a caramel-like texture, they are ready!

This recipe is really delicious and is often eaten in Japanese homes! Now if you really want a home-made Japanese dinner, have some rice and miso soup to go with it! Yum!
