Ichikabachika: Outstanding Dashi Soup With Soft Noodles
For a different type of udon dish, head to Ichikabachika in Kichijoji. It is located a 2-minute walk from the JR Kichijoji Station. There are two points in which their udon is different. One is that the broth is made from a mix of seven types of seafood, so it is very deep in flavor (has a lot of umami). The other point is that their noodles are super soft.
Udon With Tempura
This is what you can order for ¥950 (half size for ¥750)! It's called the Niku Gobo Tendon (meat, gobo, tempura bowl). The bowl is decorated with two different cuts of tempura gobo which have a different texture.
It has lots of meat as a topping that has been in the broth for a long time so it is tender and full of flavors.
The noodles are really something special at Ichikabachika because they are cooked for over 40 minutes, which results in them being super fluffy. They're made from 100 percent Fukuoka wheat.
The soup is clear but so tasty because seven kinds of seafood are used to make it!
The place has 10 counter seats and 38 table seats, so it's a good place to have a quick meal at the counter alone or to enjoy your udon with some friends at a table.
