What Are The Best-Rated Restaurants To Try In Aoyama!

Aoyama is a wonderful neighbor to get lost in and wander around. It is very close to Shibuya, but it is not nearly as crowded or busy as the latter. Although Aoyama is a rather posh neighborhood, here a few suggestions of affordable, yet delicious restaurants to try in the area!

Zero Cafe is a cafe and bar in Aoyama, between Shibuya and Omotesando station. They have a healthy cafe menu, such as salads and even a take-out menu. They also have a small smoothie selection for around ¥700-¥900. The banana chai is particularly delicious!


Ahilya has a very refined interior and is very well-rated because of it's delicious and authentic cuisine. This resto is a little pricier than usual Indian restos, but the portions are generous and the dishes are well worth the price. However, for lunch, it's more than affordable, you can get a lunch set under 1,000 yen! They have North and South Indian dishes as well, which is pretty rare in Tokyo! I'm sold on the cheese nan, but prepare an appetite!


This is the first Tonkatsu Maisen store so you can enjoy your Tonkatsu in a nice retro atmosphere. They have the traditional tonkatsu menu, which is a dish that uses quality pork from all over Japan, and the pork cutlet is deep fried. You can enjoy the same dish in other Maisen stores as well. However, the special seasonal courses are only in the menu at the Aoyama Main Store. There are several courses that you can enjoy tonkatsu, but also sushi, soba noodles, shabu-shabu and other Japanese cuisines.

Aoyama Kawakami-An

Kawakami-An is a very beautiful and modern Japanese restaurant. It has a very soothing and relaxing interior. Judging by the appearance, you would imagine it to be quite expensive, but in fact, it is quite reasonable! It is only about 1,000-1,630 yen for lunch. And at night, it's a great place to come have a nice glass of crisp sake with a friend and share some good food!

Hatake Aoyama

Hatake Aoyama is a modern Italian restaurant which the concept revolves around serving fresh and delicious vegetables. The dishes are beautifully and carefully presented. What is wonderful about most restos in Tokyo is that although restaurants can be quite pricey at night, it is possible to try their lunch menu for about 1,000 yen. What is even better is that this resto has a very affordable dinner course too! The dinner course starts at 4,800 yen!
