Healthy Tofu, Mushroom & Meat Hamburg Steak Recipe!

Japanese people are known for their healthy lifestyles and eating habits. Let's replicate some of these delicious and healthy recipes at home! Here's how to make a healthy tofu, meat and mushroom Hamburg patty!

Healthy Tofu, Mushroom & Meat Hamburg Steak Recipe!

-100g of tofu
-100g of minced meat
-1 egg yolk
-3-5 tbsp of panko
-2 tsp of flour
-5 cm of lotus root
-50 ml of noodle tsuyu
-2 tsp of sugar
-2 tsp of mirin
-2 tsp of sugar
-salt & pepper
-1/2 pack of shimeji mushrooms
-1 pack of maiteki mushrooms
-1/4 of an onion
-Grated daikon
-Sliced ginger

1. Cut the ingredients into small pieces then add to a bowl and mix together the tofu, the meat, the egg, the panko, the flour, the seaweed, the lotus root, and salt & pepper.
2. Fry it in a frying pan until it changes color slightly, then turn the patties over.
3. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat until they are cooked on the inside too.
4. Slice the shimeji mushrooms, the maitake mushrooms and the onions.
5. In a pan, add the noodle tsuyu, the sugar, the mirin, the sake, the shimeji and maiteke mushrooms, and the onions. Cook it over low heat and add the corn starch to give it a thicket consistency.
6. Add the onion sauce over the hamburger patties, and finish with a touch of grated daikon and sliced ginger (to taste).
7.That's it! Enjoy your healthy hamburger patties!


If you're slowly trying to transition away from eating meat, this is a good way to slowly wean it off. You still have the consistency and taste of meat, but it only has half the meat content. There's meatless Monday, and now healthy Tuesdays.
