Le Bouchon

Le Bouchon is a well-established French restaurant in Kyoto. For such a highly-rated restaurant, lunch is surprisingly affordable! There are two lunch options and they are between 1,340-1,540 yen. It comes with a salad, bread, a main dish, and a dessert for the second lunch plan.
For dinner, you can order a la carte, or get the course for 2,880 yen. The course comes with an appetizer, a main dish, and dessert.

A La Chalamont

A La Chalamont is a charming bistro in Kyoto which serves delicious French cuisine. If you've been eating Japanese food for a few days in a row and you need a small break, this place will transport you to a small bistro right in Paris. You can enjoy French classics like Steak Frites with a nice glass of wine. Yum!
Lunch is between 1,680-2,940 yen for a course, however, if you're in a hurry, you can ask for the one plate service with is 1,260 yen.
Dinner is a la carte, and dishes generally start at 1,000 yen.


This restaurant is spectacular because it is at the crossroad between Japanese refinement and French delicious cuisine. Have you ever dreamt of trying kaiseki-style French cuisine in an elegant Japanese decor? If so, this is the place to try. Kaiseki is intricate dishes served slowly one at a time. For lunch, you can try the kaiseki French course from 7,000 to 13,000 yen, for dinner, it is between 15,000-30,000 yen.


This elegant restaurant could be mistaken for a chic Japanese restaurant from the outside, but once you step in, you'll see it's a beautiful French resto. The chef has an eye for detail and each dish is more beautiful than the next. It is a treat not only for the eyes, but for the palate. The wine pairing is sublime.

La Famille Morinaga

La Famille Morinaga is a 1-Star Michelin restaurant in Kyoto. The concept of the restaurant is to serve natural and high-quality ingredients. For lunch, you can try the tasting menu for ¥4,500 and dinner's tasting menu is ¥8,500. It isn't incredibly pricey given that it is a Michelin-starred French restaurant in a restored traditional Kyoto building. It is definitely worth the experience!
