Shirahama has a very festive atmosphere with fireworks on its shore every day in the summer!
If you're a seafood lover, you'll be excited to know that the spiny lobster is a local delicacy. It is as delicious raw as it is casually cooked on a BBQ. Bonito is also a staple in the locals' diet!
Shirahama, not only has many resorts but also is popular for its onsens, for its diving, for its huge theme park and of course, its breath-taking scenery.

What is more is that it's easily accessible from Osaka by train!

Kino Matsushima 紀の松島

You can take a cruise and visit the islands and the caves at Kino Matsushima.

The boats leave all throughout the day from 8:30 AM, but stop when there is bad weather.

It is accessible from the JR Kii-katsuura Station and is only a 7-minute walk.

Kataonami Beach 片男波海岸

For a nice date night, you should take a stroll in the area as you will get a beautiful view during sunset. It is just as nice during the day, as it one of the longest beaches in the area. It is clean and beautiful beach for swimming or sun bathing!
