White Oak Akashi Blended Whisky is produced in the scotch tradition, but with the Japanese savoir-faire. This used to be a sake and sochu producer, but since 1919 they started to make whisky.

The Flavor

The White Oak Akashi is their most popular product because of its deep flavours. It has hints of chocolate, lemongrass and fruit flavours.

The bottling in Japan is made with malt whisky and molasses spirit, which would not classify it as a whisky in Europe. If you buy it abroad, the recipe is different and it is made from malt and grain whiskies.
Some even say it is one of the smoothest whiskies they've ever had!
