Kaiyotei 開陽亭 すすきの店

Kaiyotei is a really popular place for seafood hot pots! As part of their course meals (about ¥3,000), you can have one nabe dish that contains some of the seafood and meat Hokkaido is most famous for. For instance, you can have a seafood nabe, a lamb nabe or a Hokkaido pork nabe. The courses come with sashimi too, so you basically get to try lots of seafood not matter what hot pot you choose. They also serve salads and a noodle dish as part of the course. You can order the nabe a la carte too.

Oga 郷土料理 おが

At Oga, you can enjoy fresh Hokkaido seafood in a shabushabu style hot pot. For this style, you dip each piece of food one by one in the nabe pot in front of you, and once each piece is cooked, you can dip them in a sauce before eating them. Courses are from ¥5,000 to ¥10,000. Oga has many beautiful traditional Japanese rooms that you can have for a group (you generally have to make a reservation in advance since this is a popular restaurant).
Oga is located near the Susukino Station. It is on a 9th floor.

Kitamaru きたまる

Kitamaru is an overall amazing seafood restaurant. Among the dishes, you can have a nabe made with some in-season catches. The ingredients change depending on the time of year you go for that matter. In any case, you're guaranteed to have something quite good. The pride of the store is its dashi, or soup broth. The rich savoury taste of the soup enhances whatever seafood and veggies that are cooked in it.

Ajidokoro Nakamura 味処 なか村

Ajidokoro Nakamura is a little gem of an izakaya where you can have delicate and authentic local cuisine and "kappo ryori" (traditional Japanese cuisine which consists of mainly fish dishes, boiled, grilled or raw). They also serve some amazing "yose nabe" made of chicken broth which contains some of the freshest seafood and veggies there is. The restaurant consists of several Japanese style private rooms. This is a must-go if you're looking for something a bit of the beaten path.
