Hakata Issou 博多一双
Hakata Issou Ramen serves thick and delicious tonkotsu ramen. The broth is frothy and has a deep taste, and the noodles are cooked perfectly. They don't have an English menu, however, the staff is very helpful and can suggest the most popular dishes. A bowl of ramen is about 600-1,000 yen.
Ganso Nagahamaya 元祖長浜屋
Ganso Nagahamaya is an authentic ramen shop in Fukuoka as it is a staple in the area. The broth is thick and rich, it might be slightly too salty for some. What is more, the bowl of ramen is only 500 yen. Quite a bang for your buck if you're hungry and on a budget, or simply if you love ramen.
Kurume Taiho Ramen 久留米大砲ラーメン
Kurume Taiho Ramen is a rich tonkotsu soup, which is surprisingly not so heavy. It is delicious and has an addictive taste. You should get the gyozas as a set, they are small but firmly packed. The set goes perfectly well with beer. A bowl of ramen is 650-850 yen.
ShinShin Ramen 博多らーめん ShinShin
ShinShin Ramen is the place to try the famous Hakata ramen! It's cheap, yet incredible and the service is great. It's only 600 yen! If you brought a heavy appetite, you should try the "chashu men". It's 850 yen and it is basically ramen covered in roasted pork.And if you're particularly hungry, you can have an amazing set for only 1,000 yen. How about a ShinShin set where you get a bowl of ramen with some chahan. Or A bowl of ramen with 8 juicy gyozas.
Hakata Ikkousha 博多一幸舎
Hakata Ikkousha is an incredibly popular chain which has branches all over the world, including Singapore and The US. The original store in Fukuoka is just as popular. so prepare to wait in line. Their claim to fame is the spicy ramen, and the red or black ramen. The ramen is slightly more expensive than other ramen shops, but it's worth it!
Ippudo Tao Fukuoka 一風堂 TAO福岡
Ippudo Tao Ramen is also originally from Fukuoka and is a great value for your money! If you're looking for a place to have quick, cheap and delicious food, this is the place to go! The classic ramen is 790 yen and the spicy one is 890 yen.
