YAKITORI HACHIBEI 焼とりの八兵衛

Yakitori Hachibei is an izakaya with a refined interior and a high-quality charcoal, yet it is surprisingly affordable. You might need to make a reservation, as this restaurant is in quite high demand. Also, there are English menus available. If you order things a la carte, skewers are between 150-360 yen. If you want to try a little bit of everything, you can get the course for 3,000-4,000, where they serve you the most popular yakitori skewers. There's really no way go wrong here.

Yakitori Rakugaki やきとり処楽がき

Yakitori Rakugaki's specialty is "tsukune" (minced chicken meat skewers), Wagyu steak, innard hot pot and pork belly skewers. If you want to get a taste of a variety of dishes, try their recommended course for 3,800 yen. You get to try some of their specialties.

Muichimon 夢市門

Muichimon is an unpretentious restaurant which serves really cheap yakitori skewers and cheap drinks. You could order every skewer they have and it still wouldn't be that expensive. Their mentaiko salad is really delicious too. The staff is friendly and they have English menus so it's the perfect place for travellers.

FujiYoshi 藤よし

FujiYoshi specialty is innards for yakitori, as well as serving amazing Japanese sake. When you're here, you should also try their asparagus, which is served raw with a bit of salt. Since this resto is quite popular, it's recommended to make a reservation.
The interior is that of a traditional Japanese restaurant, it's a good place to bring friends or coworkers.

Tachinomi Sakaba Yokatai 立ち呑み酒場 よかたい 総本店

Yokatai is an izakaya that specializes in yakitori and seafood. It's a laid-back atmosphere where you can have tasty Japanese food in a relaxed atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can easily strike up a conversation with the person next to you. Have some gyozas, a few chicken skewers and a beer, it's a sure bet!

Yakitori Toriori Kurofune 焼き鳥とイロリくろ船

At Kurofune, you'll spot a lot of salarymen who come unwind here with a nice cold beer and order a few skewers of yakitori. Starting your order in the same way is a good way to start. Then, you could try the shrimp mayo dish, the salted squid. If you really don't know what to
to order, get the course! For 3,000-6,000, you get to try a bit of everything! You'll leave full and very satisfied!

Syoumon 笑門

Syoumon is a lovely place to try authentic Hakata ramen and other Hakata specialties. Their squid sashimi is delicious and so is the yakisoba! They don't specialize in yakitori per se, but you get to try loads of local dishes and Japanese classics at this restaurant. It also happens to be really cheap, so you get to try tons of different dishes. It's a good place to bring a a group of friends.
