Hakata Ramen Isshindo In Shin Nakano
Conveniently located right next to the 3rd Exit of the Shin Nakano (Marunouchi line), the joint serving Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen opened in November 2017.
Simple Menu - 3 kinds of ramen with an extra veggies option
The three types are tonkotsu (pork broth) ramen but they are offered in different colours. White has a less oil, red is made with some homemade spicy miso, and black has some roasted garlic. For an extra ¥100, you can have an extra amount of vegetables as a topping.
We tried the red miso ramen with extra veggies (¥680)
With the extra veggies option, you get a total of 170g of vegetable toppings that include green onions, cloud mushrooms and cabbage.
The soup is just right! It's Cloudy and has a deep flavour that comes from a combination of many parts of pork that were boiled for about 7 to 8 hours. Combined with some onions and ginger, the balance of taste hits the spot.
If you like a super intense ramen taste, the store even provides its original homemade ramen tare for you to add to your soup.
The wheat noodles are thin and firm. You get 100g in a bowl, but if you're still hungry after that, you can even get an extra free serving of noodles for free!
For many ramen connoisseurs, the pieces of chashu pork is a crucial part of the dish. This one doesn't disappoint. The two pieces are well-cooked and contain lots of umami.
As for the homemade spicy miso, it really adds some more good accents to the soup. The sweetness of the miso is balanced out by the spiciness in the hot peppers. The result is really spot on. Not too spicy, not too sweet.
If you want to add even more zing to your ramen, you can also add some mustard leaves. The condiment is on every table.
Side dishes too
They also have an otsumami (small dishes) menu all other ¥300. You can also order beer and even some Japanese sake.
For a satisfying, cheap tonkotsu ramen, Hakata Ramen Isshindo is a nice place to go to. Located near the Shin Nakano station.
