This restaurant does serve sushi, however, their specialties are the chawanmushi (a savoury egg custard) and the "three colour rice". They also serve tempura, the portions are quite big, so it might be best to share. You can choose between tatami seats and non-tatami seats and they also have an English menu. What sets this restaurant apart is that they cook delicious Japanese cuisine and Nagasaki specialities as well!
Den Tavern Uotatsu (隠れ居坂屋 魚たつ)
Den Tavern Uotatsu is a hole in the wall which serves excellent sushi with generous portions and it is affordable too! For lunch, for under 1,000 yen, you get a sushi set which includes excellent sushi, soba, miso soup and "chawanmushi" (a savoury egg custard). Some even say it's the best sashimi they've ever had. Given the quality of the sushi, it's quite a steal for that price!
Sakaezushi Kokichi (栄寿司小吉)
Sakaezushi Kokichi is a small mom and pops style sushi shop which serves top-notch sushi at a rather reasonable price (￥6,000～￥7,999). They don't have an English menu and the owners don't really speak English, but you can ask for the "omakase" course (for a fixed price, you let the chef choose for you. They don't take credit cards, so you'd better bring some cash.
Sushi-Go-Round Jigemon (廻転寿司 じげもん)
Sushi-Go-Round Jigemon is a non-intimidating resto with an English menu and if you don't know what to order, you can just grab whatever passes in front of you on the conveyor belt. The quality is very good and the prices are even better. It's a great place to go with your family as the prices are more than reasonable.
Sushi Dining Tenku (鮨ダイニング天空)
This magnificent sushi restaurant has a stunning exterior and an even more beautiful night view! It is a great place for a date or an anniversary. For dinner, expect to pay around 8,000 yen or more per person. It is really worth it for the quality of the sushi and the beautiful setting.
