GARAKU

Garaku first opened in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 2007 and quickly became a huge success. So much so that is expanded to numerous locations in Hokkaido, and even went overseas to Taiwan!
At last, the restaurant now has a foothold in Tokyo! It opened its first shop in April 2018, in Nakano Broadway, located a 5-minute walk from the JR Nakano station.

Soup Curry

The soup curries are made with a Japanese soup stock full of umami and have a blend of 21 herbs in them.
You get meals packed with vitamins from different kinds of vegetables. The signature dish is the tender chicken leg curry with 9 kinds of vegetables (¥1,250). The soup has a deep savoury taste that is so addictive.
Other options range in price from ¥1,080 to ¥1,680. Many of the ingredients used are locally produced. You can also taste some of the best things that come from Hokkaido as well. The pork shabu soup curry is made with Hokkaido pork.
If you really want loads of veggies, there is even an option that has 15 different kinds of veggies in it! It also happens to be the most affordable option on the menu at ¥1,080.
If you're more of a meat lover, try the kakuni one. It has huge chunks of pork that are simmered in a rich broth for a long time so they absorb all the flavour and become really tender.
You can choose your level of spiciness for your bowl on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the strongest).

Lastly...

If you want some delectable curry soup from Hokkaido, Garaku is the place to go! While you're in Nakano Broadway, you might want to check out these other restaurants as well!
