If you are looking for some of the best bars the city of Yokohama has to offer this list is for you. These bars are classics. You can enjoy sublime original cocktails, whiskeys and many other drinks in classy, relaxing quaint ambiance.

Bar Noble

Bar Noble is one of these perfect bars if you want to feel a comfortable, quaint and classy atmosphere. This is one of the best-rated bars in Yokohama for its drinks. The cocktails are simply beautiful and original too. If you are hungry, you can order pretty hearty meals as well. Noble makes excellent pizzas so try that if you want more than just drinks. With a 3 or 4 drink, this place should cost you about ¥5,000. It's located a 5-minute walk from the Kannai Station.


Whether you want a fine single malt whiskey or fruit cocktails that are fresh and original, this is a place to discover in Yokohama. The dim lighting and retro classic ambiance make it very relaxing. You can even smoke cigars in there. There is a seat charge, but you get a homemade soup with it. Although it might be the kind of place that is intimidating to walk into, the staff makes you very at ease with their friendly sense of hospitality.

Bar Three Martini

This is another outstanding place that specializes in cocktails and whiskey. It's located near the China Town of Yokohama and the port. This is a cool bar with a mix of traditional yet very laid back and modern atmosphere. The Hawaiian shirt-wearing bartender has an impressive knowledge of how to make a very wide variety of excellent drinks. Aside from the drinks, you can have Japanese-style comfort food such as Japanese curry or even crustless sandwiches, the kind you find in retro coffee shops in Japan.


This is a secluded bar that has been in operation since 1950. A locals' favourite through multiple generations, it really does have the atmosphere of a place with history. You'll feel that as soon as you push the old heavy wooden door to get into the dimly lit classy drinking den. This place has all the kinds of drinks (many rare ones too) you'd expect to find in a classic bar in Japan, plus a particularly good selection of wine. No service charge here!
Located a 9-minute walk from the Kannai Station.

Sanso 山荘

This bar is what of the best in the popular nightlife area of Noge. It specializes in "world cocktails" as it says on its signboard. You'll find some pretty interesting drinks there, such as the bar's signature one called "Sanso Cocktail" (¥800). This one is a beautiful emerald green and has a minty taste. Sugar is added to the brim of the glass. A must-try if you go there. This place has been around since 1955 so it has already proven its worth, to say the least!
Located a 5-minute walk from the Sakuragicho Station.
