5 BEST Cafes In Takadanobaba
For a relaxing time alone or in good company, awesome coffee, and perhaps a light meal and sweets, here are the best cafes in Takadanobaba!
Feel free to follow favy!
Chacha Kobo 茶々工房
Let's start this list with the impossibly charming Chacha Kobo, a traditional Japanese cafe specializing in Japanese green tea and traditional desserts. You can have matcha ice cream and parfaits, anmitsu (a cold dessert with sweet red beans, ice cream, fruits and black sugar syrup), and beautiful and extremely refreshing kakigori (shaved ice). If you aren't into sweets, go there for the delicate superior quality green tea! This is a must try little gem in Takadanobaba.
Located at an 8-minute walk from the Takadanobaba Station.
Decoboco Kitchen 凸凹キッチン
Decoboco Kitchen has a cozy, at-home-like atmosphere. The nice cafe-restaurant of about 20 seats serves some delicious and healthy meals full of fresh vegetables and home-made baked foods. You can have irresistible sweets too, such as strawberry buttercream cakes, banana chocolate parfaits, and banana-strawberry chocolate crepes. Their coffees with cute late art are also very popular.
R.O.STAR ロースター 高田馬場店
R.O.STAR is the perfect cafe for studying because there is free wifi and even outlets to charge your devices. The coffee is super cheap (¥190 cafe au lait) and surprisingly good for the price. It's roasted in-house. They serve sandwiches too that are very popular. They're pretty big in size, yet rather on the cheap side as well (between ¥258 and ¥398). The only downside to this cafe is that it's so popular that you might have to wait in line to get in.
Milestone is such as cool place to go if you like a retro-hipster atmosphere. It's a jazz-themed kissaten-type cafe (traditional cafe of the Showa Era). There a wall covered with shelves of old books. That, coupled with the antiques that decorate the store and the warm lighting makes it an incredibly relaxing refuge. The specialty at the cafe is thick pizza toasts and coffee.
I love Toufa 豆花
I love Toufa is a really interesting cafe because it serves Taiwanese sweets that you can rarely find in Japan. The dessert called toufa is made of nuts, barley adzuki beans and tapioca. All these ingredients are put together and sweetened with a black sugar syrup. It might seem like a strange combination if you aren't used to east-Asian traditional sweets but give it a shot! It's said to be one of the best in Tokyo. You can also have bubble teas at this popular cafe.
For awesome cafes in Takadanobaba, these are arguably your best choices. Hope you'll have the chance to give them a try. Takadanobaba is also a hot spot for ramen. Here is our selection for that!
