Area Guide For Kasai (Tokyo's Little India)

Here are the points of interests and some interesting things to do in Kasai, a lesser known area of Tokyo on the eastern side, bordering Chiba.

Feel free to follow favy!

Kasai 葛西

Kasai is a mostly residential area of eastern Tokyo on the border with Chiba prefecture, very near Tokyo Disney Land. It is served by the Kasai Station of the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. One important characteristic of the area is that it has a significant population of people originally from India. It is sometimes referred to as Little India because of that. Here are some things to do in Kasai.

Delicious, Cheap Indian Restaurants

Around the Kasai Station, there are a few excellent Indian restaurants. One of them is WaIndo 和印道. There's an awesome all-you-can-eat lunch buffet every Sunday from 11:00 to 15:00 that is just ¥1,300.
WaIndo has really good reviews online, but there are others worth the go too within a 5-minute walk from the station.

Heisei Garden

In the north area of Kasai, there is a traditional Japanese garden called the Heisei Garden worth the visit if you happen to be in the area.

Address: 3-2-1 Kita Kasai, Edogawa, Tokyo

Kasai Rinkai Park 葛西臨海公園

To the south, there is the Kasai Rinkai Park known for its Ferris wheel, having a bird watching center and The Tokyo Sea Life Park Aquarium. The park is easily accessible by the Kasai Seaside Park Station.
Japanese food culture enthusiast. Love to explore new areas and discover local specialties.
