Salon Ginza Sabou: The Best Of Modern & Traditional Japanese Cuisine

Ginza

Ginza Sabou Salon is at the crossroad between modern and traditional Japanese cuisine. They offer visually pleasing dishes, which are just as delicious! You can have savoury food as well as sweets here, although their claim to fame is the Matcha parfait. It incorporates Japanese aesthetics and typically Japanese flavours to make a beautiful modern dessert.

The interior has a relaxing and soothing atmosphere where you can enjoy a nice meal.

Menu

There are so many exquisite dishes to choose from and the best part is that it's very affordable. You can also get set dishes with a main dish, rice and soup for less than ¥1,000.
This tempura set comes with seasonal tempura vegetables over a bed of rice with miso soup and pickled vegetables (¥1,800).
If you are too affected by what is called "natsubate" in Japanese or being tired from the summer heat, this dish is perfect for you. This light dish comes with miso soup (¥1,000).
How delicate and beautiful are their onigiris though! They're only ¥160 and are the perfect healthy snack. Don't forget to snap a pic first.
This might possibly be the most refreshing cocktail for the summer, the Inokura Tea High, which is basically high-grade tea with whiskey (all are ¥680).
You've probably seen this beautiful dessert appear on your Instagram or Facebook feed as it's been blowing up online lately. This beautiful dessert is available as a set with tea for ¥1,500.
This dessert has also gone viral. The raindrop cake is simple, but yet so mesmerizingly beautiful! It is a sort of transparent jelly, served with soybean powder and black sugar syrup. It's also perfect for the summer as it is so incredibly light and delicious (¥1,000 as a set).
If you have a sweet tooth, you're in luck! Salon Ginza Sabou also brings a Japanese twist to a French classic, the gateau au chocolat is made with azuki (red bean) paste in the centre. This cake is so incredibly soft, and addictive (¥950 as a set).

Finally...

You can stop by Ginza Salon Sabou for a light meal, and of course one of their beautiful desserts. Their matcha parfait seems to be their most famous dessert by far, but their other desserts are very Instagram-worthy and delicious!
