Usukifugu Yamadaya (臼杵ふぐ 山田屋)

Heading from Roppongi station and a few mins walk past Roppongi Hills you'll find this 3-Michelin star restaurant, Usukifugu Yamadaya.

The Chef here has been preparing "fugu" (blowfish) for decades and has perfected the art of serving up Fugu in several different ways. So fears aside, Fugu Sashimi here is prepared in a special way and is dipped in different sauces that Yamadaya prepares exquisitely from scratch making it a true delicacy!
Heading towards this restaurant, you will be astonished by the aesthetics of this purely Japanese restaurant. The simple yet elegant decor is sure to astound you. There are private rooms in the restaurant where you and your guests can enjoy a relaxing time in a Japanese tea ceremony inspired space.
You can also enjoy sitting at the counter to appreciate seeing the chef at work! It really is captivating to see the chef doing what he does best!

There are three fugu courses to choose from:
-The 6-course meal:¥23,000
-The 7-course meal:¥28,000
-The 8-course meal:¥33,000
This is the optimal way to enjoy fugu, it is served with condiments and sauces in which you dip the fish. It really brings out a delicious taste and the taste is quite delicate. Wrapped in scallion and dipped in "ponzu" (a citrusy soy sauce), the mix of flavours and texture makes for a deliciously addictive dish.
This is part of the seasonal "kaiseki" (traditional Japanese course meal). Each ingredient is seasonally chosen and is carefully prepared to complement the other ingredients served.
Have you ever tried pufferfish sperm? Well, there's a first for everything I suppose. Some say it's really delicious.
You can ask the staff to suggest some amazing sake pairings to accompany your meal. You'll be amazed at the selection and variety of taste of sake alone!
