Alcatraz Tokyo Closed Down, But It's Not The Only Of Its Kind!

Alcatraz Tokyo closed down, but luckily there are many other wacky and weird restaurants to check out in Tokyo! Check out our suggestions below!

Feel free to follow favy!

Alcatraz Tokyo

About a 10-minute walk from JR Shibuya station, this prison-hospital themed-restaurant was as wacky as could be! This was a fun place to go if you wanted to let your hair down and have a fun evening with friends. The drinks were really fun to try too.
Also, this restaurant was definitely not the type of place to bring your kids because of all the sexually connotated food and drinks. For example, there was a drink called "sperm juice" with a banana in mango juice or a drink that was served with a vibrator inside. There was a beer served in a hospital pot chamber, a dessert served on a hygienic napkin, etc.
All that being said, it was a lot of slapstick humour and it wasn't for the faint of heart. But unfortunately this restaurant closed down recently.

So where can you go now??

If you're looking for restaurants with a similar kind of wacky atmosphere, here are some other places you should check out since Alcatraz closed down!

The Lockup

Lock up is a prison-themed restaurant, and the performance begins as soon as the elevator door opens. You walk through a haunted house-like entrance, and then the lady officer will put handcuffs on one person and will take you in one of the prison rooms!
It is not just the atmosphere that is prison-themed, but the food and drinks are also very unique. Drinks like Medusa's eyeball and Pink Vaccine or food like skeleton shaped hamburgers are all very spooky-looking and you may hesitate at first to drink/eat it.

The monster attraction show that they have a few times during the day is also very exciting!

Vampire Cafe

Located a few minutes from Ginza station, this restaurant is very impressive to walk into. This vampire-themed restaurant is decorated in blood red, and even the mirrors and sinks are stained in blood. There is a small table charge. The food is great and the appetizers are especially worth trying!
