The Coolest Restaurants in Tokyo!

All genres included, these are some of the coolest restaurants in Tokyo you definitely should check out! Have you ever enjoyed a meal while looking at a gigantic aquarium? Or a molecular bar which will make you rethink completely how you think about food. Check out this list for more interesting recommendations.

Feel free to follow favy!

This restaurant has an impressive aquarium and you can see tons of beautiful fish while enjoying your meal. Usually, gimmicky restaurants don't have to make an effort cooking-wise to attract customers because people will come anyway, but this restaurant actually serves great Italian cuisine!

Kawaii Monster Cafe

The concept of this resto is to pay homage to Harajuku, Tokyo's unique and crazy fashion.
Harajuku is a town with eccentric fashion that integrates the world's newest trends as they come along. So this continual integration of culture is embodied as a monster that swallows everything in its path, hence the "kawaii monster" theme.

You are greeted by the monster girls as you walk in and you will be accompanied to one of the four unique sections of the resto.
There is a 500 yen cover charge, however, it is free if you have a pass.
The food is incredibly cute and colourful, you should definitely go if you are a Harajuku girl (or boy!)

Genki Sushi

If you're looking for high-end, traditional sushi, you should skip this place. However, if you're looking for a funny and cheap sushi place, you should definitely stop by! If you've never been to a conveyor belt sushi resto, it's actually quite impressive, this one in particular. You order from a screen in front of you (there are many languages available) and a few moments later it arrives right in front of you while making a doorbell sound!
They offer quirky menu items such as beef rib sushi, tuna salad and corn mayo sushi, etc. The weirdest one by far has got to be the cheese hamburger sushi! You can also order dessert, french fries and fried chicken. So it makes for a great place to go with your family without breaking the bank either!

Tapas Molecular Bar

Tapas Molecular Bar is in Nihonbashi, on the 38th floor of the Oriental Lounge, near the Mitsukoshimae station. This restaurant is probably the most impressive in terms of presentation and surprise-factor!
This restaurant only has eight seats and is a one-Michelin starred restaurant. This is a two-hour experience, where the chef slowly serves you bite-sized dishes that will stimulate the eyes and the palate.
The course starts at ¥17,000 and offers a variety of small dishes.

Fishing Restaurant Zauo

Catch your own dinner in downtown Tokyo! You wouldn't believe it if someone told you that you can actually catch your own dinner on a boat in the middle of Tokyo. Better yet, from the comfort of your own table! Fishing Restaurant Zauo opens its doors every night to the public to try their luck at catching their own dinner! Can you imagine how much fun it is to drink while fishing with your friends!
