Two Fireworks Festivals at Tamagawa are on October 2018!


Fireworks festival (Hanabi taikai) is one of the Japanese traditional summer events. Kawasaki-Tawagawa Fireworks Festival and Setagaya-Tamagawa Firework Festival are some of the popular ones. This year, these festivals moved to October due to the weather. Get ready for the late summer fireworks!

Kawasaki city Tamagawa Fireworks Festival

This fireworks festival is the biggest one in Kanagawa. It is the top-ranked for the most popular fireworks festival in Japan for 2018. This is the 77th Festival started since more than 50 years ago. This year, they moved it to October 13th, 2018.

It starts at 6 P.M. and goes on for an hour. There will be approximate of 6000 fireworks to shoot up. You can watch it for free, or you can buy a ticket to sit on a chair and watch it from the better angle. There are two places to watch. The tickets for Kawasaki place are from ¥5000 for 1 person, ¥13000 for 2 people, and ¥20000 for 4 people. The tickets for Kaminoge place are from ¥4500 for 1 person, ¥13000 for 2 people, ¥17000 for 3 people, and ¥25000 for 4 people.

Setagaya-ku Tamagawa Fireworks Festival

This fireworks festival is also on October 13th, 2018. It is at the same place as Kawasaki-Tamagawa Fireworks Festival, but this one is across the Tamagawa river. It is free to watch and will start at 7 P.M.
The special thing about these two fireworks festivals is that they always do it together across the Tamagawa river. There is no other chance to watch two fireworks festivals at the same time.

There is no way not to go to these festivals. It will definitely be a fun experience.
