Genki Sushi is a fun, welcome-to-the-future type of really cheap dining experience you won't want to miss in Tokyo! Check out how to order and what you should try at Genki Sushi
Feel free to follow favy!
Genki sushi is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the heart of Shibuya, Tokyo. It is only a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station' South Exit. It's right in the shopping district, so if you need to fuel up on tasty and cheap food after a little too many impulse purchases, be sure to stop by.
The system is impressively simple, yet efficient and technologically advanced. After you are assigned to a seat at the counter, there is an electronic tablet before you which could be set to Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese (simplified and traditional).
Directly from the tablet, you can order tons of different food and drinks. There is so much to choose from. Of course, there is sushi, but there is also creative sushi, such as hamburger steak sushi, there is also Western food, such as French fries, and there are tons of tasty desserts to choose from!
Once you send out your order on the tablet, your dish will arrive right before your eyes like a train on the conveyor belt. It's a really fun and exciting experience!
There is just so much to choose from, it's so exciting to look at the menu and see all that they have to offer. The best part is that you can get a lot of sushi plates, which come with two pieces of sushi, for 100 yen! You can get salmon, shrimp, squid, etc. You can also get quirky ingredients such as cheese hamburger sushi or roasted pork ribs sushi.
On top of the usual menu, there is also a seasonal menu to choose from. From the summer menu, you can get fried eggplant sushi, corn sushi, gyoza sushi (!!). It's a fun and wacky sushi, you'll definitely be happy you tried.
Uni and salmon roe are normally on the pricey side at sushi restaurants, but this sushi set is 220 yen for both. Quite a good deal.
This is definitely not something you would find at an Edomae sushi restaurant, but the fun part about this restaurant is that they definitely don't take themselves seriously and it translates into tasty and unusual sushi. Try some of the funky ones too.
Wow! Now, you'll definitely get your money's worth for this huge piece of eel and it's only 450 yen.
Don't forget to try their tasty desserts too! They also have ice cream, fresh fruits, creme brulee, pudding, etc!
Genki Sushi has a branch in Tokyo and they also have branches all over Tokyo. Genki Sushi is a fun experience for children and adults alike, be sure to check it out when you're shopping around Shibuya!
