Suehirogari For A Yakitori Date in Nakameguro, Tokyo

Suehirogari is a Michelin Guide recognized yakitori restaurant in Nakameguro. It's a great place to bring a date as you can sit close to each other at the counter seats and enjoy delicious food together.

Feel free to follow favy!

The counter is a perfect place for a date

Only a minute walk from Nakameguro station, Suehirogari is a small and quaint restaurant.
This restaurant has been recognized by the Michelin Guide as a worthwhile restaurant.
Their specialty yakitori course is very popular. In fact, it's always quite busy so you definitely need to make a reservation before-hand.
It's different from how you would normally envision a yakitori restaurant as it has a chic interior, a nice atmosphere, and mostly counter seats.
It's a great place to bring a date if you want to sit close to someone you like.

Suehirogari only offers a course menu

The course is ¥4,500 (excluding taxes).
Suehirogari only offers a course menu, but it is surprisingly reasonable.
The course includes an appetizer, sashimi, yakitori, a main dish and rice among other dishes (9 in total).
Apart from that, they also offer courses for special occasions and limited-time courses.
Price-wise it's quite reasonable and it's a great place to bring a special someone you'd like to be more than friends with.

Delicious yakitori course

These are the most popular items on the course.
The meat used for the course is always fresh of the day.
The 6 skewers we were served on that day were chicken breast, chicken meatballs, chicken thighs, mushrooms, and two pieces of chicken heart.

The outside is crispy and the inside is juicy. The yakitori chef carefully grills the meat to get that perfect texture. The chef only cooks one skewer at a time to ensure the optimal cooking.
If you're nervous and you don't know what to talk on your date, luckily, you can always look at the chef making the yakitori.
The yakitori course menu only serves fresh meat of the day and it changes daily.
We had the chance to have the heart skewer, and if you're lucky, so will you.
It's slightly crispy on the outside, and juicy as soon as you take a bite out of it. The sauce is slightly sweet and it brings out the meat's umami.

French cuisine X Yakitori= an imaginative and delicious pair

The appetizer, the yakitori restaurant terrine
This splendid appetizer is a fusion of French cuisine and yakitori.
It's super smooth and has a very nice texture as well.
As you're eating this dish, you could imagine for a second that you're at a high-end French restaurant. Your date will definitely be impressed.
After the terrine, we were served this yuzu chicken meat ball oden soup.
The soup has a comforting yuzu smell, but as soon as you take a bite of the tsukune (chicken meat balls), it has a nice pepper smell.

Next in the line-up

Omurice is a popular Japanese soul food which consists of a fluffy omelette over rice, this version includes a delicious beef innard stew.
It'll make for an unforgettable taste and texture.

Their alcohol selection

There are tons of drinks to choose from, from beer to high-balls and of course wine and cocktails.
The recommended cocktail is the Moscow Mule made with a home-made ginger syrup. It has a slightly spicy taste which really entices the taste buds.

Suerhirogari is a wonderful yakitori restaurant in Nakameguro you need to try, but be sure to make a reservation!
It's a great place to take a date and have an amazing time and dinner.
