Chavaty is a new milk tea shop that uses the highest grade of milk, specially selected for going well with black tea.

You can enjoy Uva black tea from Sri Lanka, one of the world's finest, blended with high-grade milk in a comfortable atmosphere.

Sri Lankan Tea And Milk Pastorized At Low Temperatures

Chavaty's signature tea is the Uva Tea Latte (¥580). This Uva tea variety is said to be the best to make milk tea.

On top of that, premium quality milk from Hokkaido, pasteurized at a low temperature is used. This milk is said to be the best to make milk tea. The combination of these two outstanding ingredients gives this milk tea its exceptional taste.

If black tea isn't your thing, note that they also serve some top-quality Uji matcha and "hojicha" (roasted green tea) just to name a few.

A Tea That Brings Out The Natural Sweetness Of The Milk

I tried both their matcha and Uva milk tea.

The Uva had a silky smooth refined taste! You can really tell that the black tea and milk work in synergy to bring out the best possible taste. There is a natural sweetness, unlike anything I had ever had before.

The matcha milk tea had contrasted interestingly to the Uva because of the slightly bitter taste that the green tea adds to it. It was also excellent. I would recommend it for people who want a more adult-tasting drink.

Scones: The Perfect Companion To You Milk Tea

A tea room wouldn't be complete without its sweets. At Chavaty, you can get scones that are just the perfect match for the milk tea they serve. They are cooked in-house and are pretty cheap too (one for ¥160).

A good idea is to get a set that includes a milk tea and two scones for ¥850.

Nothing is better than a scone with a hard crust and a soft inside. The smell of the freshly baked scones is also irresistible.

They come with a salty butter and a honey in which there is a mix of fruits and nuts. The combination of the sweet and salty taste is perfect.

Something For The Summer

They serve an original summer dessert that consists of a jelly in cubes of either Uva tea, hojicha or matcha (pictured above is the hojicha). There is a sweet syrup in it that goes really well with the natural deep taste of the tea.

Lastly...

Chavaty is the perfect place to relax while drinking high-end milk tea and sweets. Located at a 5-minute walk from Omotesando, it's definitely worth the visit next time you go to the area.
