5 Places To Have Sushi Around Tokyo Station For All Budgets

Tokyo Station is one of the major hubs in Tokyo, both for people working and people travelling through. Here are some restaurants worth going to for a last minute sushi craving!

Sukiyabashi Jiro (すきやばし次郎 )

Have you heard of the documentary "Jiro Dreams of Sushi"? This is the restaurant that was introduced in the documentary. You can enjoy the Omakase Tasting Menu with 20 sushi pieces for ¥30,000 (excluding tax) for either lunch or dinner. "Omakase" means you allow the chef to decide what to serve you instead of ordering by yourself. It is a great place for a small crowd due to the limited 10 seats in the restaurant. For this reason, they only accept reservations through the concierge of your hotel.
The restaurant is located in Ginza. But, you can also walk there from Tokyo station via Yaesu Exit, it's a 15-minute walk.

Mantenzushi (まんてん鮨)

Manten Sushi is another sushi restaurant that serves Omakase Menu. A meal costs ¥3,000 for lunch and ¥6,000 per person (taxes not included). Do not miss the limited servings of bara-chirashi for ¥1,000 (taxes not included). Bara-chirashi is one of the classic dishes using cooked ingredients over a bed of sushi rice. The restaurant has a cozy setting and it is located in Marunouchi Brick Square.

Nemuro Hanamaru (根室花まる)

Enjoy the delicious sushi from Nemuro port, located in Hokkaido while you are around Tokyo Station. A win-win situation for everyone. They serve sushi in a conveyer belt at KITTE department store. Most items are nigiri sushi served two by the plate. The plates start at ¥240 (taxes not included). There are some seasonal delicacies that you have to try while they last.

Sushi Aoyagi (すし青柳)

Sushi Aoyagi is located in a hotel at the station. It serves edomae-sushi (江戸前すし) sushi course meals, where Edo means Tokyo in the olden days. Edomae-sushi comes as a set and is made in a short time with assorted fishes over rice. The price for lunch courses are from ¥3,200 and up (taxes are not included), dinner courses are from ¥7,500 and up (taxes are not included).
An "ika" sushi, also known as the cuttlefish sushi, is beautifully presented on a plate.

Numazu Uogashizushi (沼津魚がし鮨)

Numazu Uogashizushi serves seafood from Suruga Bay (駿河湾) that is located in the northern part of magnificent Mount Fuji. Therefore, you can guarantee that they are serving the freshest fish there is. They are course meals from ¥1,500 (taxes not included), a reasonable price for a meal around Tokyo station. If you are not planning to have a full meal here, they have some a la carte menu items as well.
It can be accessed through Yaesu North exit at Kitchen Street.
