Yoshida Pan: Cheap And Delicious Japanese-Style Sandwiches

Tokyo

Yoshida Pan is a popular sandwich shop in Tokyo that sells cheap Japanese style sandwiches that you can grab on the go!

Feel free to follow favy!

Yoshida Pan

There are two locations in Tokyo of Yoshida Pan. The original location is in Kameari in Katsushika-ku near the Kameari Station, and another one is in the Lumine department store of Senchuasahicho of Adachi-ku, near the Kita Senju Station.
The sandwiches sold are very simple bread rolls filled with a variety of ingredients that are most often either traditional Japanese ones (e.g. adzuki bean paste) or ones that are western imports but are not usually used in sandwiches outside of Japan (e.g. spaghetti).

Menu

To non-Japanese, this one might be a strange combination. The yakisoba pan is a stir-fried noodle packed bread roll. As you can imagine it's very high in carbs yet so addictively delicious! This is a Japanese staple done very right at Yoshida Pan.
These are two sweet ones you simply have to try. One is a matcha-whipped cream bread roll, and the other is margarine and anko sweet bean paste one. The super fluffy bread works so well with these kinds of sweet fillings.
The Taramo Salad sandwich is made with fish eggs, potatoes and seaweed. Might sound strange in a sandwich but the nice umami from the seaweed and fish eggs, and the soft texture from the mashed potatoes makes it one of the most popular ones there.
This one is basically a hot dog (¥300). A popular item that is only available Sunday.
Yoshida Pan offers seasonal sandwiches as well. This one is an autumn special, filled with pieces of sweet potatoes and black sesame seeds. You can be sure that they'll have a Sakura one for the cherry blossom season in March and April!
This is the Halloween special.

There are several other kinds of sandwiches available. You might be skeptical about these sandwiches but trust me, you get the bang for the buck! Everything is between ¥180 and ¥400 and no matter what sandwich they are talking about, people seem to say only good things about this place on various social media platforms.
