ELLE Cafe Serves The Cutest Bonbon Parfaits!

You might have heard of this booming trend from Korea, called the "bonbon parfait". It's an incredibly cute parfait served with tons of fresh fruits. The trend is finally catching up in Japan and ELLE Cafe was the first to make it happen. We came to try the strawberry bonbon parfait for ourselves!

Feel free to follow favy!

A bonbon parfait...?

Have you heard of the bonbon parfait from Korea which has been blowing up Instagram lately?
"Bonbon" meaning candy in French.

The fruit tower-like bonbon parfait

At a cafe called "Cafe de Paris" in Korea, the "Tarugi bonbon" trend has been blowing up Instagram. It's fruits, cream and a beautiful topping. ("Tarugi" means strawberries in Korean.

In Japan, this trend has already caught up and bonbon parfait is basically a fruit tower.

ELLE Cafe is said to be the first to bring this trend to Japan and their beautiful parfaits have been posted on Instagram a lot. Let's take a closer look at this beautiful dessert.

Strawberry Bonbon is Instalicious

This is much talked about Strawberry Bonbon from ELLE Cafe.
How beautiful is the presentation though!

There are three flavours to choose from: strawberry, polyphenol and mango; also there are two sizes to choose from regular size (¥1,800) & healthy size (¥1,500).

All the vitamins! They use about a whole pack of strawberries to make a parfait

This parfait is made with a pack of strawberries, which is about the equivalent of 6 strawberries and is said to be the daily amount of vitamins needed.

Also, the smoothie is made with cream and more strawberries. So in other words, that's a lot of strawberries and you'll probably be full from all the delicious fruits!

Made with probiotic yogurt

At the bottom of the smoothie, is a mix of yoghurt made from almond milk and coconut milk.
The smoothie has a nice and subtle coconut milk taste, which bring a nice sweetness.

The yoghurt adds a nice taste to the smoothie as it cancels out some of the sweetness.

Only 200 calories?!

You would expect something with that much whipped cream to be slightly in calories, right?
But this parfait is made with non-GMO soymilk whipped cream.

Because of that, the Bonbon Parfait is actually much lower in calories than a regular parfait.
It's only about 220 calories.
Although it has a rich taste, it's rather low in calories. That's a good reason to have another one I suppose!

ELLE Cafe Aoyama: Healthy & Beauty

ELLE Cafe, only a 3-minute walk from Omotesando Station, serves the beautiful Strawberry Bonbons.

ELLE Cafe is produced by ELLE magazine and now has three stores in Tokyo: in Aoyama, in Shibuya and in Roppongi.
ELLE Cafe has a Parisian vibe which goes perfectly well with the neighbourhood, chic Omotesando.

The cafe has a nice and comfortable atmosphere and it's not intimidating to go by yourself.

Be sure to try the Instagram-worthy Bonbon parfait at ELLE Cafe in Omotesando!
