Where To Have The Best Sukiyaki In Sapporo!

Sapporo

Looking for some good sukiyaki in Sapporo? These 4 restaurants are among the best for this Japanese specialty!

Feel free to follow favy!

Sankosha 三光舎

This is one of the most popular places in Sapporo to have some really good sukiyaki. You can order a course from ¥7,000 to about ¥10,000 but there are cheaper options as well. Courses come with many other dishes aside from the sukiyaki. The broth of the sukiyaki here is amazing because they add a kind of sweet miso to it which gives it that special Hokkaido twist (much like the miso ramen that is famous in Hokkaido).

The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Mercure Sapporo hotel near the Susukino Station.

Gyu-no Ishizaki 牛のいしざき

This restaurant is very high-end (expect to pay from around ¥10,000 to ¥20,000 for one of their 6 courses). All the ingredients used are of top quality. The beef comes from a special kind of Hokkaido cattle Ezo Beef for which the raising standards are very strict. The meat is so fresh that it is even possible to eat it raw. The courses come with many other dishes, If you just want their sukiyaki, you can have it a la carte for about ¥5,000 (120 g of beef).

Located at a 3-minute walk from the Susukino Station.

Zen 禅

If you've really worked up an appetite, Zen might be your best option because it has various all-you-can-eat plans that start at just ¥2,800 (there is a time limit of 90 to 100 minutes depending on the course). For an extra ¥1,550, you can even an all-you-can-drink option to the courses. The restaurant really has a nice, warm interior too!

Private rooms are available for large groups. You can either sit at traditional low tables or western-style ones.

The nearest station is Tanukikoji.

Gyuya Edohachi 牛屋 江戸八

This is a popular steak, shabu shabu, and sukiyaki restaurant that offers good affordable options. The cheapest option (¥2,780) is a sukiyaki meal that consists of Australian beef (leaner than the Japanese beef). If you want to have it with Japanese wagyu beef (famous for its marbling, so fattier and full of umami), prices range from ¥3,700 to ¥6,800 depending on the quality.
