Edamame えだ豆

Edamame is so simple, it is often just boiled soybeans served with salt. If you have it with a beer, it's guaranteed to be almost impossible to stop eating! On the bright side, it's healthy apart from the high sodium content! Soybeans are a good source of protein, they are rich in vitamins and minerals, it reduces the chances of prostate and breast cancer, and it helps with PMS.

Onigiri, also known as rice balls, is a super handy and delicious dish. Some Japanese people have it on the go when they don't have time to sit down for breakfast, some people have it as a snack, and some people have it as an accompaniment to a nicely prepared home-cooked meal.

It can be served with a variety of ingredients in the centre, such as natto, tuna, salmon, pickled vegetables, etc.

Yakitori 焼き鳥

Yakitori is a traditional Japanese cuisine that most people really love, no matter where they come from. It consists of grilled skewered chicken (almost every part) seasoned with either a soy-based sauce or salt. It can also be prepared with vegetables, such as mushrooms or asparagus wrapped in bacon.
It's awesome and pairs perfectly with beer!

Tebasaki 手羽先

Tebasaki is basically deep-fried chicken wings and is originally a Nagoya speciality. The reason it's unforgettable is that it is has the perfect seasoning; it's made with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, pepper and a touch of sugar. Try it for yourself, you'll have a hard time stopping after one!
