Things To Do in Meguro!

Here's a list of all the things to do (and eat) in beautiful Meguro in order to spend a lovely day!

Feel free to follow favy!

Take a walk in a beautiful park

The Meguro Sky Garden

This beautiful area in Meguro is sort of a hidden gem. It's a loop-shaped garden on top of a highway intersection. The garden opened in 2013 and was awarded the Good Design Award that same year by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.

Saigōyama Park

There are so many beautiful parks to relax in Meguro, Saigoyama being one of them. It is also a popular spot during cherry blossom seasons and is also beautiful all-year-round. It's great for family outings and picnics.

Visit some temples

Ryūsenji is a Tendai Buddhist temple in Meguro. It is known for being the burial place of Hirai Gonpachi and Komurasaki. A story which is often portrayed in Kabuki plays.
This beautiful and colourful temple is worth wandering around in.

There are many temples to discover in chic Meguro, Otori-jinja is another one of them! This temple is famous for having festivals in September where you can see many people gathering and trying a lot of delicious Japanese street food.

Enjoy some excellent cuisine

Meguro is a fancy and hip neighbourhood where you can wander the streets and discover so many hidden gems. But we narrowed down the search for you and came up with a list of some inescapable restaurants. Enjoy!

Coffee time!

While in Meguro, you should take a moment to stop and enjoy the present moment. And that very well mean stopping for rainbow cheesecake, simply-well, because you can!
Bon appetit!

Check out some museums

Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography

The Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography is located in the Yebisu Garden Place, a few minutes from Ebisu Station. They present both Japanese and international photographic art.
The museum is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, and until 8 PM on Thursdays & Fridays.
The admission fee depends on the exhibition.

Meguro Parasitological Museum

Although this may not be your cup of tea, this is a very interesting museum to visit. This museum is also a private research facility, where you can learn about all types of parasites. They showcase parasites affecting humans as well and how it affects us.

Cherry blossom viewing in Spring

Meguro river is considered one of the most beautiful places to admire the cherry blossoms in Tokyo. It is a very lively area where you can sit at the terrace of one of the restos by the river. Or, you can bring your own blanket and sit down with your friends while enjoying some snacks and some drinks.

Take part in the sanma festival in summer

The Sanma Matsuri in Meguro is a fun and lively event where tons of people gather to enjoy fresh fish delivered directly from Iwate. The event is held on September 9 and people gather from morning to make sure they get one too. Since 30,000 gather every year and only 7,000 fish are offered, you might want to get there early!

I love travelling and discovering new cuisines. Japan has a panoply of local dishes to try. I also love yoga, coffee, reading, and cycling.
